Visit one of Knoxville’s historic jewels

The property’s 24 acres overlook the Tennessee River and the Great Smoky Mountains and are open to the public through a series of trails that can be accessed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The House is open at select times for tours and cultural programming presented by Knoxville’s premier arts and cultural organizations.

Please note that the House is only open for scheduled tours and events. Periodic closures for private events are noted in our calendar. Gates will be locked promptly at 5 p.m. Any vehicles remaining onsite after hours may be towed.

Situated on Lyons View Pike in the Bearden neighborhood, the Eugenia Williams House is conveniently located in the heart of Knoxville.
From downtown, University of Tennessee
Take Kingston Pike headed west and proceed approximately 2 miles. Then turn left onto Lyons View Pike. Continue for .6 miles. The EWH entrance is on the left.
From South Knoxville, Maryville, Alcoa
Take Alcoa Highway (U.S. 129) north toward Knoxville. Exit onto Neyland Drive and turn right onto Neyland Drive. Turn left on Kingston Pike and proceed approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto Lyons View Pike. The EWH entrance is on the left.
From points North, via I-275
Merge onto I-40 west, then take Exit 386B for Alcoa Highway (U.S. 129 South). Continue to the Kingston Pike exit and turn right onto Kingston Pike. Proceed approximately 2 miles down Kingston Pike, then turn left onto Lyons View Pike. The EWH entrance is on the left.

Parking

Guest parking is available in the Upper Parking Lot just inside the main gate. Vehicles with more than two axles, trailers, and RVs are prohibited.

To preserve the historic nature of the property, parking at the Eugenia Williams House is limited. Please do not park in neighboring parking lots or on the EWH lawn unless instructed to do so by EWH staff or parking attendants. During periods of high visitation, guests may be directed to designated offsite parking locations. Please visit our calendar for more information.

Please note that the Main and Exit gates will be locked promptly at 5 p.m. Any vehicles remaining onsite after hours may be towed. Parking arrangements for private events must be coordinated in advance with EWH staff.

Accessibility

Our All Persons Trail, an ADA-compliant path, leads from the Upper Parking Lot to the accessible entrance ramp in the House’s Forecourt. Please note that other trails and terrain include steep drops, uneven surfaces, and stairs. Visitors are advised to exercise caution and hike at their own risk.

ADA-compliant restrooms are located in the Amenity Building at the Upper Parking Lot and are available in the House during scheduled events.
